The family of Hollywood star Mel Gibson has made a sad journey to Adelaide - to farewell the father of his wife, Robyn Moore.
Bill Moore, 85, died peacefully on October 10, at Ashford Hospital.
The funeral was held at the Mawson Chapel, Centennial Park yesterday.
It is believed Gibson, 51, did not make the journey from the US with his wife and children for the service.
Bill is survived by his wife Nancye, children Susan, Robyn and Michael, and 12 grandchildren -- including Gibson and Moore's seven children -- and one great grandchild.

17 OCTOBER 2007.- GREEN TRENDS

"If a celebrity says, 'Go green,' it is just so much easier for a person to say, 'Yes, let us go green'."

Chris Paine's movie "Who Killed the Electric Car" has been described as a murder mystery and a call to arms.
"Who Killed the Electric Car" is one of a new wave of documentaries focusing on environmental issues and it makes use of the voices of Hollywood stars like Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson to drive the point home. Both Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson were electric car drivers themselves.
Bonita Nuttall (Carte Blanche presenter): "Over the years Mel Gibson made a name for himself, not only as an actor but also as an activist. This year, another Hollywood hottie follows suit."
Leonardo DiCaprio: "With the onset of global warming and other catastrophic events, environmentalism has become today a broader unifying human issue."
Leonardo DiCaprio's new film "The 11th Hour" was released in the United States last week.
Hollywood, it seems, is going green and everyone is talking 'climate'. Analyst Dion Chang charts the trends, and he says the greening of Hollywood is on the up.
Dion: "I think 2007 has become the year of the cause, so it has become super trendy. It is the cause to be seen supporting. It is definitely the year."
This year, Al Gore walked off with the Oscar for his documentary "An inconvenient Truth".
His environmental blockbuster weaves the science of global warming with his personal history. It catapults Al Gore to top position as environmental activist of the big screen.
Melinda Shaw (Editor: Heat Magazine): "The sad thing is that celebrities carry a lot of weight."
Melinda Shaw, editor of Heat Magazine is close to the Hollywood beat.
Melinda: "These people have a lot of attention focused on them and as a result they have a lot of power."

With the release of "The 11th hour", Leonardo DiCaprio could challenge Al Gore as the leading campaigner in the global warming war.
Leonardo: "Our response depends on the conscious evolution of our species. This response could very well save this unique blue planet for future generations."
Melinda: "The big thing that this movie goes on about is that kids of this generation have the ability to make a difference because they have the facts."
Melinda has the facts on what's cool in Hollywood's celebrity world.
Melinda: "This year at the Oscars they had a pre-Oscar party where they had a green carpet instead of a red carpet."
And even out on the red carpet big names are talking green.
Melinda: "Penelope Cruz was one of them; Cameron Diaz is driving a Toyota Prius; George Clooney has an electric car. Brad Pitt as well… he has narrated a whole documentary on environmentally friendly architecture. Cate Blanchett apparently takes shorter showers. She has said that when she has to wash her hair she tries to take shorter showers so she doesn't use up too much water."
Bonita: "Do you think Hollywood going green is just a fad and everyone is just jumping on the bandwagon?"
Melinda: "I think there are quite a few people who are just on the bandwagon. It is good to be involved with a cause. You can be cynical and say they are just jumping on the bandwagon, but these are people who have kids as well - like Brad who has many kids all over the world. So obviously it is important for them that the planet survives."
Dion: "If a celebrity says, 'Go green,' it is just so much easier for a person to say, 'Yes, let us go green'."
Bonita: "Is it possible that some of it is just Hollywood propaganda?"
Melinda: "Of course it is. Like John Travolta, for instance. When he was promoting his new movie 'Wild Hogs', he said we should all do our bit for global warming. This is a man who owns his own Boeing 747 and has been known to travel in it on his own."
Another carbon culprit is Madonna.
Melinda: "She apparently has the carbon footprint that exceeds 14 000 Malawians."
… this despite her avid support for Al Gore's campaign.
It's the kind of tokenism that can turn a worthwhile trend into a fad.
Dion: "And once it becomes a fad it goes in and out of fashion really, really quickly. You need to sustain that trend. The trend needs to become a movement, not a fad. We are at that fork in the road where it could become a fad or a serious movement."
A serious movement is what serious filmmakers are pushing for in 2007.
