22 JUNE 2007.- THE IMAGEN AWARDS
The Imagen Awards, celebrating the best of Latino entertainment, are set to fete "Ugly Betty" star America Ferrera at their 22nd annual awardsfest July 28. Ferrera is to receive the Creative Achievement award during the ceremony at the Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA and she is also competing for best television actress. Her competition includes Eva Longoria of "Desperate Housewives," Judy Reyes from "Scrubs," and Constance Marie of "The George Lopez Show."
George Lopez is in the running for best television actor as are Miguel Ferrer from "Crossing Jordan" and Carlos Mencia of "Mind of Menica" among others. "Ugly Betty" and "The George Lopez Show" are competing for best primetime program against "Lost" and "Angel Rodriguez."
Best film contenders include Oscar winners "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Babel" as well as the Mel Gibson helmed "Apocalypto." "Babel" co-stars, Academy Award nominated Adriana Barraza and Gael Garcia Bernal, are among the acting nominees.

23 JUNE 2007.- GIBSON REVISITED OAXACA
Mel Gibson, our intrepid traveller, is in Oaxaca (Mexico). According to local press, he needs a rest after his trip to Cartagena where photographers and journalists made his life a misery, in fact, he ran away from Colombia with thousands of fans in close pursuit. A nightmare!!!
Gibson, who's staying at Camino Real Hotel, breakfasted with Mayra Serbulo last Tuesday. Serbulo, who hates posing for photographs but loves talking with the media, explained that MG didnīt plan to shoot a film in Oaxaca. "He's taking a well-earned rest," she said. So we'll have to eliminate Oaxaca from our list of favourites.
"Mr. Gibson is our guest and we have to look after him," and with these words a hotel spokesman cancelled the spontaneous press conference, which was a menace to their guest's safety, and destroyed our hopes of adding tons and tons of new pics to our photo album, "Mel Gibson on holiday"
