I mean absolutely no disrespect to the subject of Mel Gibson's film (I'm a Baptist minister). But when I pointed this out, a friend of mine and I drove twenty minutes round trip to get a camera to take this picture.
Lines 1 and 2 are an interesting combination, but only mildly humorous compared to lines 7 and 8 which had me doubled over laughing. Then I was sobered when I thought of Bonhoeffer's "The Cost of Discipleship" and wondered what if Jesus' TWELVE disciples had truly followed him. Then I read lines SIX, 7, and 8 and was struck by collision of the secular and the sacred.

We are the Indigenous Native IRISH Fish Harvesting People of the 150 square miles LOUGH NEAGH which rests in the center of Northern Ireland . 400 Years legally dispossessed by English Law we are. While the LORDS profitted from the hundreds of Thousands of the SALMON who were trying to make it up the Northern River Bann till the Lough. The Salmon which previous our people of the 82 miles of shores, fed ourselves and all the Tribes even twenty Miles away from the Shores , Even to Belfast by Pack Ponys .Some Pony peoples even arrived at the Shore in Bad Times seeking for Food. Our people afterward the Nine Years War of 1594--1603 survived by harvesting the Lough's resident coarse fish for food and in subsistence Economy all around the Lough. Very Few of The SALMON make it past the LORDS Six Weirs. The Lords exporting all Caught via Coleraine to feed England . I could relate our Saga in Full if you Wish or answer any Questions about our Grass Roots Endeavours . We await your Investigation intill our possible Emancipation from The LANDLORD or in this rare case LOUGH LORD . The English Parliaments produced The IRISH LAND Acts around 1900 when about 3/4 of Ireland was allowed till be bought back by The Irish Tenant Farmer People , We the Food Harvesters and Local Distributers of Ireland Largest Lake and all other Waters were Forgotten and left Bereaved in Feudal Tenure as such Fishing Previleges were not retrieved as The Land Acts Dealt only with THE LAND and NOT The WATERs in all Ireland .
