I bought the "Apocalypto" DVD; just watched it for the third time. It is magnificent, and one of the greatest movies ever made. It's right up there with "Quest for Fire" and ""Windwalker". It was unquestionably the best movie of 2006, and it is absurd that it did not win the Oscar for Best Picture.

La ímportante razón és, que me encantó un libro SHOGUN, por James Clavells, se trata de una historia japonesa increible donde un marinero inglés conoce a Marikó, una chica japonesa entre los años 1500 y 1700, y si lees el libro te llenaras de aventuras y drama como nunca antes, mi imaginación es muy volátil, mientras leia cada acontecimiento de la historia todo se tornaba tan real y hermoso... quisiera que tu la produjeras o la dirigieras... Me encantaría hacer de mi imaginacion una realidad... Le pido a Dios que lleguen a ti estas palabras y puedas pensarlo... Mi único deseo es ver en la pantalla la historia única y realmente tan hermosa y llena de magia como yo la imagine. Hace tiempo, como 4 años que la leí, y encontre 8 CD´S y es tan antiguo, y no tanto eso, sino que el drama y el relato no es el mismo, yo se que tu le pones corazón y ganas a tus producciones... lloré muchisimo con LA PASIÓN DE CRISTO y me encantó sin duda APOCALIPTO, así halla tenido todas las críticas, de parte de las creencias de los mayas y etcetera.... Por favor lee el libro por lo menos... Te lo recomiendo, desde que Anjin-San(señor-Capitan), llega a puerto es una aventura tras otra.....

way to properly thank you for what you have done, except for me to say that if you need a volunteer to help you in your goals then I will
willingly offer my services. All I would need is a place to sleep and some things to eat. I am a former military service member and I am trained in security. I have also been to college for graphic design, yet I would gladly help you in any way that I could.
I say these things not because I am so enamored with you as a person to foolishly think that you are a saint or someone who needs to be
exalted or what not. "Only God is Good." Is that not what Christ had said to his apostles when they tried to praise him. Indeed, you and I might not even get along well because I am a Roman Catholic and you have a different church. Yet, I would not fault you with that as Christ has alsosaid, "No one can do these things and not be of me."Yet, I say that I would volunteer to defend you or help you in any way that I could because I feel so strongly that what you have done and what you will do in the future has and will touch others the way that your movie "Passion of the Christ" has touched me. I also feel that evil people in this world wish to do you harm and slander you in any way that they can.
I feel that you are being persecuted for what you have done and I want
to do what I can to help you, no matter how we may differ on religious technicalities. I know that God must have been with you when you made the movie, "The Passion of the Christ" and I feel that as long as you remain in grace with him then I want to help you.
The Catholic church Itself has not even tried to my knowledge to make
such a movie as you have made. Are we not as Catholics instructed to
wear a crucifix and not a cross so that we preserve the suffering of
Christ as your movie has done?

All Armenians were happy to hear the good news that Hollywood might take up the side of truth soon, led courageously by your goodself in association with 'ICON Productions'. This is regarding your intended participation in a movie about the Armenian Genocide.
However, it appears that there is an ongoing e-mail campaign by a Turkish group known as The Foundation for the Struggle Against Baseless Allegations of Genocide (ASÝMED) to discourage you from taking a lead role in the movie which is based on a novel named " The Forty Days of Musa Dagh".
It is clear for all to see that the current Turkish government relentlessly and unashamedly does everything it can to sweep the facts about the Armenian genocide under the rug. The 1915-17 genocide in which almost half the Armenian population were wiped out by the Turkish government ruling during WWI. A genocide which was to be a precursor to the holocaust during WWII. A genocide which Hitler himself sited when he boldly assured doubters how easy it would be to kill all the jews, reminding them that "Who now remembers the Armenians?"
No one has ever been called to account for the Armenian genocide. Of course by now, all the persons responsible are no longer alive. No one is looking to punish the present day Turks. The Turks claim that it was another generation who should be criticized, not them. True enough, but that is NO reason to try and deny the genocide happened. It would be quite another thing for the Turks to say today, "yes, many of that generation committed a horrendous thing and for that, we are sorry". But they will not even acknowledge there was a genocide committed by their predecessors.
Mr. Gibson, I am writing to urge you not to be discouraged by the Turkish genocide-denial machine from your goal of taking a lead in this movie project. I want you to know that as a humanitarian pursuer of truth you will have the strong support and deepfelt admiration of all Armenians in the world.
